A simple, upcycled diy for your garden: rice bag herb planters. I had this Indian basmati rice bag hanging on the back handle of my door for months. I didn't want to throw it away because I knew I would find a unique use for it sooner or later. Well, later has manifested itself into a pretty hip little herb planter, if I may?
Very simple and all you need are these things:
rice bag (or burlap coffee bag)
/ Start by folding over the bag to make a pouch (taco shape). Take your needle and sew each side together, making loops and pulling tightly to stitch it closed. Admire your work. Now, add your herbs and soil and display proudly. My bag had handles, so I also stitched one handle across the bag to keep it slightly closed. I did this because I can now use the other handle to hang the pouch elsewhere, without everything tipping out the front. Enjoy!
